The Journal

The story of Thoroughbreds Equestrians starts with my love for horses. As a little girl I was was always fascinated by these magnificent creatures that God had created. My initial exposure to horses came from my life at different army establishments where I grew up as a child. I want to admit that at that stage I never thought that horses would become such an important part of my life. But now, horses just bring out a strange form of confidence and freedom every time I called the beast to canter.

Life went on, I got married and was blessed with Adhiraj, my son. I think I had forgotten about horses until one day when he was all of three years, I was looking for some activity for him and got to know of a riding facility in the neighbourhood. I got him a few lessons after which the sheer joy of watching a little boy learn to balance and control the huge beast and the confidence on his face rekindled my old passion and sowed the seeds for Thoroughbreds Equestrian.

One fine morning I went and bought 3 horses in spite of not having a place to saddle them. Since I couldn't take them home for the fear of not knowing how my husband might react, I left them at the stud farm before breaking the news to him. I was pleasantly surprised when he told me "you are married into the right family", as his great grandfather had exchanged acres of Zamindari with a farmer for a beautiful mare whose stories he had grown up with.

Thoroughbreds started with two acre of rented land and 3 thoroughbred horses, Warrior, Badal and Sultan. They were primarily meant for our family to go riding together but gradually, my husband had no time to go riding because of work and I was asked by doctors not to ride horses anymore owing to some medical reasons. Hence, with only Adhiraj left to ride these horses, he wanted company and as a result we allowed some onlookers to come in and a small community came into existence.

The numbers increased from a few to many and as all horse lovers can vouch, there was no turning back....And here we are with Thoroughbreds Equestrian...!!!
